This is really not so much one singular coherent blogpost as it is a bunch of half-formed blogposts in a trenchcoa webpage. But hey, so was the last one. And my whole entire keyboard works this time!

That’s right, you heard it here first, folks; the keyboard is functioning! All the keys! For the first time in, uhh, years!! I wrote 90% of a blogpost about it, and the experience of Not having one (and, chiefly, what I could have done in that time and did not do), and then I got a full night’s sleep and on a reread it was kind of bitter and boring and not even ironic in a funny way. So, bye. It’s not happening.
But the punchline was going to be, after several blank lines at the bottom, “Sent from my iPad,” and the real kicker would be that I actually did send it from my iPad. On account of writing it on that device. And publishing it from that device, through the GitHub website. For the bit.
Please laugh.
Anyway, the most salvageable thing from that draft would be this: During the half-month of computerless(?) behavior, I dug up my previous laptops for the hell of it. The oldest one has Linux on it, which I mentioned in passing in 2022. What I did not mention is that, in the process of putting Linux onto it, I made it dual-boot with every scrap of memory it had left, and so now it’s basically just a really fancy ancient doorstop that can load both Windows Vista and Linux Mint. But then you can’t do shit with either of them, on account of the other operating system eating up all the space.
This is fixable, I think. I have misplaced the USB that I put Linux on in the first place, but I could just wipe everything and turn it into a dedicated Linux machine. It functions surprisingly smoothly for a glorified time capsule.
There’s a black hole in it. I completely forgot there was a dead pixel black hole in it.

Now, I do remember there being a dead pixel conga line around that corner, starting at the edge and slowly expanding across the screen until I finally replaced the whole machine. Decidedly do not recall it turning orbular.
Cool. An operating system switchout wouldn’t fix that.

read: All of ↑that was drafted at the start of the month (the 2nd, to be exact). It is now the end of the month (June 30). I don’t remember exactly why I set this post aside without publishing it, beyond some vague and nebulous frustration with it leaving off without something of Substance™. So then I went and did and made a bunch of stuff and now there are more things to share. Hooray!
…that one viral circus show, which wrapped up this month. Its premise is extremely up my alley; I delayed watching it both because I don’t like getting into things before they’re finished, and because I had the vague sense it might take over my life. I’m writing this on the heel of the finale, and… y’know? The writing stumbles sometimes, I’m not #hashtagObsessed with it like I thought I’d be, but it was pretty good. Fun show. Watching an episode a day was a chill time, and it’s given me food for thought re:how to approach my own writing. It did not hit the notes I expected it to hit, and I can see what it was trying to do instead. Would recommend if you want a character-driven comedy-drama drizzled in 90s/early-aughts technological chaos, served up in snappy indie animation with a smile.
Also (I can’t believe I’m saying this), watch the merch ads. Trailers, even. Alongside the episodes, chronologically, for a 100% speedrun. I think it’s added “His pathetic!” to my vocabluary permanently now.
I watched some of Gooseworx’s work prior to TADC, which made for a good little this-is-what-you’ll-be-getting primer. “Little Runmo” is what got her noticed by the studio; the Elainduology certainly exists; and “The Darly Boxman Show” is my favorite of the shorts listed. Me too, Darly. Me, too.
self-aggrandizement (site updates)
I dabbled in ArtFight in 2023 & 2025 and only just now made pages for them. Here are the pages for 2023 and 2025. Unsure if I’ll participate this year, but it’s nice to kick that one off the back burner finally!!
By extension (and alongside bullet #3 below) I revisited the Toyhou.se knockoff a bit. Added a couple of weird deer and made a page for this guy.
Art from this year specifically is out there now yaayyyyyyy 🎉 So far it is mostly 3D, plus also a furry. There’s at least one more standalone scribble in the wings, and some frankendeer compilations that I don’t know exactly where to put just yet. I made it 2026-exclusive because otherwise I would want to reupload Everythign From All Time and that is. not,,,, feasible. realistically. To say nothing of redundancy— Anyway I like chronological sorting because every other method is wildly subjective. I do miss having roundups and might shove all this (half?-)year’s miscellaneous stuff into one of those again. Idek. I make thign, I like to show off, go look at it.
This base site could use an update sweep but that is a job for later-me. Something something new thing every month half year gone whatever I’m gonna go nab Off again while it’s on sale. That’s all for this round ✌️
