do you want me to make like. gay posts. what

This is really not so much one singular coherent blogpost as it is a bunch of half-formed blogposts in a trenchcoa webpage. But hey, so was the last one. And my whole entire keyboard works this time!

For ease of visual separation I’ve put them in their own fancy little CSS div-cards. They can be read in whichever order. Enjoy. (Or don’t and go click another tab, ig.)

That’s right, you heard it here first, folks; the keyboard is functioning! All the keys! For the first time in, uhh, years!! I wrote 90% of a blogpost about it, and the experience of Not having one (and, chiefly, what I could have done in that time and did not do), and then I got a full night’s sleep and on a reread it was kind of bitter and boring and not even ironic in a funny way. So, bye. It’s not happening.

But the punchline was going to be, after several blank lines at the bottom, “Sent from my iPad,” and the real kicker would be that I actually did send it from my iPad. On account of writing it on that device. And publishing it from that device, through the GitHub website. For the bit.

Please laugh.

Anyway, the most salvageable thing from that draft would be this: During the half-month of computerless(?) behavior, I dug up my previous laptops for the hell of it. The oldest one has Linux on it, which I mentioned in passing in 2022. What I did not mention is that, in the process of putting Linux onto it, I made it dual-boot with every scrap of memory it had left, and so now it’s basically just a really fancy ancient doorstop that can load both Windows Vista and Linux Mint. But then you can’t do shit with either of them, on account of the other operating system eating up all the space.

This is fixable, I think. I have misplaced the USB that I put Linux on in the first place, but I could just wipe everything and turn it into a dedicated Linux machine. It functions surprisingly smoothly for a glorified time capsule.

We’ll see.

Now, as for Laptop #2…

desktop background by the Mincing Mockingbird. The actual original image seems to be lost media now, but here’s its closest current approximation.

There’s a black hole in it. I completely forgot there was a dead pixel black hole in it.

Behold, here’s one of the pictures completely unedited.

Now, I do remember there being a dead pixel conga line around that corner, starting at the edge and slowly expanding across the screen until I finally replaced the whole machine. Decidedly do not recall it turning orbular.

Cool. An operating system switchout wouldn’t fix that.

you are
small, a speck of dust
floating along the wind
perhaps just hatched, and
looking for a place to
land. grow. thrive.
instead you have stumbled into the coarse artifice of my jeans,
and I forgive you, and
send you along to the nearest patch of greens.

what if i replay off. what if i rewatch arcane. what if i recycle my dragons. what if i rewrite my ocs. what if i dig my hands into the every vestige of my past and pry and pry and pry and pry and pry and find what I still like and thank everything else for its service and toss it to the sea.

read: All of ↑that was drafted at the start of the month (the 2nd, to be exact). It is now the end of the month (June 30). I don’t remember exactly why I set this post aside without publishing it, beyond some vague and nebulous frustration with it leaving off without something of Substance™. So then I went and did and made a bunch of stuff and now there are more things to share. Hooray!
